EchoStep Terms of Service

These terms cover licensing, acceptable use, transfers, refunds, and the difference between Personal / Pro and Organisation use.

EchoStep is sold as a personal perpetual license or a yearly organisation license, with HWID-based activation and support-assisted transfers where needed.

1. Personal / Pro License

Personal / Pro licenses are perpetual licenses for version 1.x and are for one person's own devices only. A Personal / Pro license may be activated on up to 3 devices that the license holder personally uses.
  • Personal / Pro licenses are one-time purchases, not subscriptions.
  • Personal / Pro licenses are not for sharing with colleagues, teammates, departments, or company-owned machines.
  • If a license is being used on colleague devices, shared machines, or company-owned hardware, that use counts as Organisation use.
  • Sharing your Personal / Pro slots with other people is not allowed and may result in the license being reviewed or deactivated.

2. Organisation License

  • Organisation licenses are intended for teams, departments, and company-managed deployments.
  • Organisation licenses are annual licenses and renew on a yearly basis unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Organisation licenses may include a shared device pool and seat transfer support.
  • Organisation buyers should contact support if they need help moving a seat to a new machine.

3. Device Transfers

If you need to move a Personal / Pro license to a new machine, deactivate it on the old machine first, then activate it on the new one. Organisation seats may be transferred with support assistance.

Your license is locked to the machine that first activates it through its hardware ID. If you replace your computer, contact support and we will help you transfer access where appropriate.

4. Acceptable Use

  • Use EchoStep only on machines you own or control, or where you have permission to install it.
  • Do not attempt to bypass license limits, device limits, or activation checks.
  • Do not redistribute license slots to other people when using a Personal / Pro license.
  • Do not reverse engineer, tamper with, or attempt to defeat the licensing checks or offline fallback verification.

5. Refund Policy

Refund requests are handled by the payment provider and by us where applicable. If EchoStep fails to function on your specific hardware configuration, contact support within 14 days of purchase and we will review the issue.

Refunds may not be available where the product has been materially used or where the issue is caused by unsupported third-party software, unsupported operating systems, or license misuse.

6. Data & Privacy

We use purchase and activation data only to issue, validate, and support your license. We do not monitor your screen or inspect the contents of your automations. License data is stored securely and may be retained while needed to operate the product and meet legal obligations.

8. Service Retirement

If we ever retire the live licensing backend, we may provide offline signed license files to existing customers so they can continue using the app. That fallback is intended as a shutdown path only and does not change the license terms above.
